Summary

• Soluble in fat and water, alpha lipoic acid provides extensive antioxidant activity throughout the body
• Alpha lipoic acid may also aid glucose metabolism and help to convert nutrients from food into energy
• No added dairy, gluten, soya bean products or yeast

Dosage

• 1 capsule 1 - 3 times daily

Warnings

• It is generally recommended that lipoic acid be taken on an empty stomach to improve bioavailability
• Reported side effects include allergic skin conditions and possible hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients as a consequence of improved glucose utilisation
• Dietary supplements should not replace a balanced diet
