• Contraindicated in those with known allergy to andrographis or andrographolides
• Echinacea is contraindicated for long-term use in patients taking immunosuppressant medication (eg transplant patients) - short-term therapy only is suggested in this instance
• Dietary supplements should not replace a balanced diet
